Lamang is about to feel richer, more dynamic, and more interactive, giving you a wealth of reasons to explore, loot, and experiment with a wider variety of weapons and gear. Alongside the player-driven improvements we covered in the previous devlog, Spearhead Update (0.4) brings a wave of new content.

Environment
Lamang has gone through massive changes. The world should now feel fuller, more dynamic, and interactive, with a more diverse environment for gameplay. Locations are packed with details and varied assets that hint at the island’s dark lore. Terrain and vegetation were adjusted to boost player agency, giving you more control and clearer sightlines to carefully plan your approach.
- Added 25+ new locations, varied in size
- Added small biomes around the map (burned forests, bamboo forests, shot out forests, swamps)
- Rebuilt and polished existing locations with a focus on environmental storytelling and lore
- Redesigned the locations to reflect the particular AI NPC factions occupying the area and their specific lore
- Reduced vegetation around Combat Outposts and Points of Interest to improve visibility
- Redesigned FOBs
- Polished environment near rivers
- Added paths in the jungle
- Added variety to the state and searchability of buildings (open, closed, abandoned buildings)
- Introduced a wider range of interactions with the environment
- Added moon phases
Characters
Regarding characters, we focused on introducing more variety. We redesigned AI enemies into clearly differentiated factions, each with a distinctive boss, to improve readability and encourage players to use different tactics and loadouts when engaging them. Players can now also choose from visually upgraded PMC head models.
- Redesigned AI enemies into seven distinct factions, each defined by unique faces, hairstyles, clothing, gear, weapons, and carried loot (plus additional redesigns for FOB and COP guards, as well as Starter Town AI NPCs)
- Added new enemy bosses with distinctive voice lines
- Reworked and visually upgraded all PMC heads (16 heads in total)
- Added new apparel for players obtainable via Twitch Drops
- Remodelled all vendors
Weapons & Gear
The new weapons in 0.4 are meant to broaden the choice spectrum, introducing both low-tier and high-tier guns. Together with a multitude of new weapon parts, gear, and items, these additions should bring much more variety to your loadout. We have also made numerous improvements to weapons, ammunition, gear, and ballistics.
Weapons & Parts Added:
- 380+ new weapon parts (including new color variants of previously existing weapon parts, and parts of new weapons)
- 8 new weapons: Alien, L403A1, M16A1, M1A, M14, Sa vz. 58, Remington Model 788 .222, M-201C
- 9 unique camo variants for firearms
- 12 unique engraved weapons for the bosses
- 3 new collimators: Trijicon MRO, RMR Type 2 Red Dot Sight, Laugo Arms Red Dot
- 5 new scopes: Leupold FXII Scout 2.5x28mm, Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56mm F1, RAZOR 1-10x24 Rifle Scope, SAI 6, Vudu 3-9x32 SFP
- 3 magnifiers (2 color variants of each, except 3X-P, 5 together):
- Aimpoint 3X-P Magnifier
- Eotech G33 Magnifier
- Eotech G45 Magnifier
- 4 binoculars, 1 with range finder functionality
Gear Added:
- 150+ new gear pieces (including new colour variants of previously existing gears)
- 33 unique boss variants of existing and new gear
- 8 new helmets: Type 66, Type 88 with and without cover, Tor L, Qgf03 (2 colour variants and a ghillie version), BK-ACH HC, BK-ACH, Fast XP HC
- 6 new pieces of headwear: backwards baseball cap, shemagh, balaclava mask (3 kinds), face mask
- 2 new glasses: Condor glasses (2 variants), Crossfire glasses
- 3 new plate carriers: 6B45 Ratnik, Spitfire, LBT-6094 G3V2
- 4 new rigs: Type 56 SKS, Mayflower UW Chest Rig IV, Mini Rig A-Tacs (without drop pouch), Kangaroo Tactical Rig (without drop pouch)
- 2 new belts: Custom Gear Low Pro, Lightweight combat belt
- 3 new backpacks: C2 BAG Compact Backpack, Civilian Trekstar 70L, Small leather backpack
- 3 new headsets: 3M Peltor Comtac II, Impact Sport, Selex Tasc 1
- 2 new night vision devices: DT2 (2 color variants)
- 2 new ballistic vests: LVS Overt, LVS Tactical
- Added morale patches that players can earn by ranking up, becoming a supporter, attending special events, or through Twitch Drops
Improvements Related to Weapons, Ammo, Gear, and Ballistics:
- Introduced manual bolting
- Implemented weapon weight effects on ergonomics, sway, acceleration, and ADS in the first-person field of view
- Revamped weapon stats to accentuate the impact of weapon handling, including aiming down sights, sway, inertia, reload speed, and weapon weight
- Improved ballistics calculations to better balance realism with gameplay and to make weapons and ammunition more viable
- Ammunition type now affects weapon durability, with special rounds degrading weapons faster
- The ammunition item detail now displays the lowest armor class that the projectile is not able to penetrate
- Bullet damage is now more clearly visible thanks to new hit reactions and limping
- Grenades have been rebalanced to better match real life
- Rebalanced helmets to offer more meaningful protection, with caliber and velocity directly affecting penetration potential
- Adjusted durability to decrease faster, encouraging players to reserve their best weapons for high-tier areas
- Added an “Attachment Interface” section to the Inspect window, showing which socket the items belong to
- Added new weapon check and reload animations for the most commonly used weapons and newly added weapons
- Improved weapon sounds with clearer directional positioning and seamless tonal shifts

Loot
We have made extensive changes to the loot system in this update. We significantly expanded the loot pool to increase variety and make exploration more exciting. We also reworked loot distribution to create clear high- and low-value areas and better align spawns with specific locations. In addition, we added a large set of intel items to enrich environmental storytelling across Lamang.
- Doubled the number of distinct loot, adding over 123 items (including new cases, food, meds, medical supplies, and valuables)
- Added 351 intel items (magazines, letters, posters…), 68 of which are lootable
- Increased the spawns and diversity of high-value loot to make exploring more exciting
- Adjusted loot distribution to:
- Create distinct high and low-value loot locations
- Match the location and container type, e.g., you are more likely to find medical supplies in an infirmary
- Match the AI NPCs factions occupying the locations
- Introduced junk items
- Added new container types
- Rebalanced stims to have weaker negative side effects
- Certain food and drinks now provide buffs when consumed, for example, coffee boosts stamina recovery speed
What’s Next?
With two devlogs now out, only one remains to complete the Spearhead devlog series. In next week’s final entry, we’ll take a closer look at major reworks to the core game loop, progression, vendors, and the economy, along with several new features.
In the meantime, we’re continuing to test and polish Update 0.4 to make sure everything is ready for its release at the end of March.
